Nesting dolls reveal a person's orientation underneath the outer layer disguised with a common exterior. The teardrop represents the sadness gay Russians face for the punishment of their "crime".

A SCOUT IS PROUD 2013

This painting shows you can have it both ways. At the time this painting was being created, the boy scouts still had a ban on gay scouts and leaders. Shortly after it was completed, the boy scouts had taken away their ban on gay youth involved in scouting, but not on the leaders.

HURT 2008

This image depicts a person's willingness to make himself vulnerable again after having his heart broken in the past. He is exposing himself with the trust that whomever he gives his heart away to will not break it again.

Many different meanings to this image, but one can get a sense of urgency in the moment while time slips through your fingers. (SOLD)

BEST MIX IS THE MUSIC & THE PEOPLE

The Cedar Brook Cafe, known to many as the oldest gay bar in the nation stood in Westport, CT. It was a second home to many people and everybody knew your name. Sadly, shortly after it closed its doors, it was demolished. This painting shows the Brook in its final days where people are grooving to their last dance. (SOLD)

This image illustrates how a person involved in a toxic relationship can be beat down little by little with small "cuts" that can add up to the kind of destruction capable of breaking down a person.

Allowing a person who has been cruel to you to still grab hold of your heart despite knowing that the person is no good for you.

This was just a fun piece inspired by my love of science fiction films and the opening credits scene from "Barbarella" as she undresses in zero gravity.

PVT DICKS 2011

This was my "Don't Ask Don't Tell" military piece. It was painted just before they repealed it. It was done after a discussion with a friend who spent his military career closeted on the base.

NO STRINGS ATTACHED 2010

The idea of the man looking like a puppet represents a person who just got out of a bad relationship. He relied on the other person to complete himself while losing his own identity. After the breakup he must get up and walk on his own without relying on someone else to drag him in the direction they want him to go in. (SOLD)

BED OF FROZEN ROSES 2010

This image illustrates a person whose intimacy with a person has diminished. The coldness of the colors demonstrate the lost connection even though undressing for sexual activity is taking place.

This image represents the struggle a person has within himself with being both Catholic and Gay.

RISE UP AND WALK 2012

My H.I.V. piece combining aspects of the Passion of the Christ and being H.I.V. positive. Its the cross he must bear but it is also his chance to demonstrate the importance of protecting yourself and knowing your status by walking.
